[Valerian Adrien von Wolfstadt]
Eine Fliegerstaffel hinterher
Alarm zu geben, wenn es so war
dabei war da am Horizont
Age
23
Gender
Male
Sexuality
Bisexual (He's not willing to admit it, but he's definitely felt something for a couple of guys before. Good luck getting him to acknowledge that though, classic closet case.)
Place of Birth
Nuremburg, Germany
Occupation
Uh... christ I don't even know what to put here. There are already like 7 Special Ops and he's good at gathering intel but he specializes in fieldwork... he's not an Espionage type... uh, Intelligence?[/blockquote]

Personality Evaluation
Valerian is very militarist-minded, though most of that has to do with growing up in Nuremburg, Germany during the time of the War with both parents fighting in it. This basically means he is efficient, strict on himself and others around him, and just the slightest bit insane when it comes down to a question of violence or mercy.
Being raised by his older sister taught him several things: for one, that you can only rely on people who have proved to earn your trust and two, in dire situations it is imperative to remain calm and logically think through your actions. He learned well from lesson one but the second never stuck, so even though Valerian is slow to anger, once he's there he is extremely rash in his actions, and that's gotten him into plenty of trouble before.
He's not as paranoid as most people who grew up in the war tend to be, but that doesn't mean you should be going around making sudden movements in his peripheral vision - Valerian isn't the type to flee; he'll stand his ground against any threat against him, and that includes but is not limited to things that are dangerous, things that could potentially become dangerous, things that surprise him, things that he's prepared for, things that move in a threatening way, or things that move in general.
No, really, he's not paranoid, he's just extreme. In Valerian's mind, things that could potentially provide danger in the future need to be eliminated so that they can't come back. He first developed this mindset when he watched his sister die by something that she'd been avoiding by running away from it, and that taught him the most important lessons of all: if there is anything dear to you, it can always be taken away and if you want to protect it, running away is not an option.
Quirks and Habits!
Valerian tends to slip into his mother tongue whenever he gets angry or emotional, and it ranges from a flustered accent to a full-blown stream of furious Deutsch; it mostly happens when he's annoyed or mad, but his being upset or embarrassed has been known to trigger it.
Family
He has a living cousin (Valerian is adopted into the family, however) who has been rumored to be involved with Telum. His immediate family (His mother, his father, and his older sister) are all dead, and it's his older sister's death that really affects him most.
-----------------
Fighting Experience
Valerian is proficient with polearms, specifically lances and halberds, but the problem with those is that, since they rely on an arc and angular momentum, he's only very good at mid-range. Once his opponent gets close to him or disarms him, he starts to flounder; he's not really good at hand-to-hand combat.
General Apperance
Valerian is blonde and blue-eyed, and though he's got the figure of a dancer he's definitely not graceful enough to be one. He wears glasses because the radiation from the wars caused his vision to deteriorate to the point that he's basically blind without them, and even when he has them on his vision still isn't perfect. He likes uniforms mostly because of his military mindset, but he's extremely partial to soft things like hoodies and long jackets like cloaks or trenchcoats. And he likes hoods, mostly because he finds them infinitely useful in the rain (Valerian doesn't like getting his hair wet.)
Weapons and Possessions
Valerian fights with a halberd, and he manages to carry that with him because the handle folds and he can tuck it into his belt as if it were a police baton. The blade also folds to lie flat against the handle, and he's able to prepare for battle by removing it from his belt and then flicking it quickly to unfold it. He also carries a pocket German-English dictionary with him and an Iron Cross on a chain under his shirt. Apparently, it's been in the family since World War II, and it's his last piece of inheritance to survive.
